How Much Does It Cost To Take The LEED AP BD+C Exam?

LEED AP BD+C is the most popular LEED AP with specialty credential in the world and the number of LEED AP BD+C credential holders around the world continues to grow each day. If you are working or planning to work in the green building industry, the LEED AP BD+C credential can make a great contribution to your career. In this blog post, we will cover the fees for the LEED AP BD+C exam.

The LEED AP BD+C is the second tier of LEED professional credentials, and in order to take the LEED AP BD+C exam, you must have the LEED Green Associate credential at the time of the exam. LEED Green Associate credential is the prerequisite to all the LEED AP with specialty credentials. With that being said, there are two paths to become a LEED AP BD+C.

1) LEED AP BD+C Exam Fees If You're A LEED Green Associate:

If you're already a LEED Green Associate, you can register and take your LEED AP BD+C right away. The regular fee for taking the LEED AP BD+C exam is $350. However, if you are a full-time employee of a USGBC member company, your exam fee will be reduced to $250. And at last, for veterans the LEED Green Associate exam is free. There is no student discount for the LEED AP BD+C exam unlike the LEED Green Associate exam.

2) LEED AP BD+C Exam Fees If You're Not A LEED Green Associate:

If you're not a LEED Green Associate, you can either take and pass the LEED Green Associate exam first, and then schedule your LEED AP BD+C exam. Or, you can take both exams in a single session. The regular fee for taking the LEED Green Associate & LEED AP BD+C combined exam is $550. However, if you are a full-time employee of a USGBC member company, your combined exam fee will be reduced to $400. And at last, for veterans the LEED Green Associate and LEED AP BD+C exams are free.

It is important to note that taking both exams in a single session will result in a reduced exam fee, however the total duration of the combined exam will become 4 hours.

These fees are for one single exam session. If a candidate fails the exam on the first attempt, the candidate needs register again and pay the exam fee for each exam attempt.
